I
Q. Why is this change being made?
A. This change is being made to provide better service to those who
really need a curb-to-curb service.
Q. Who made the change?
A. The Red Bluff City Council and the Tehama County Transit Agency
Board.
Q. What do I need to do to continue
riding ParaTRAX?
A. If you have a disability or condition which makes it difficult
or impossible to ride the fixed-route TRAX system just fill out the
enclosed application and return
it. If we determine that you are eligible for certification we will
send you an identification card.
Q. What if I need assistance in filling
out the application or don’t understand something?
A. Call us at 385-BUSS (2877) and we will be happy to help you,
either over the phone or in person.
Q. Can you give me examples of
disabilities or conditions that would make me eligible?
A. Some examples include, but are not limited to:
-
You cannot travel to the bus stop due to
physical limitations or visual, cognitive or developmental
impairments, or
-
You cannot wait, either standing or
sitting, at a bus stop for more than 15 minutes, or
-
You cannot get on or get off the bus
without assistance, or
-
You cannot understand transit directions
or identify buses or bus stops, or
-
You cannot handle money or tickets
Q. What happens if I don’t qualify for
ADA certification?
A. You will not be able to ride ParaTRAX after June 30th.
We will be happy to help you learn how to ride the TRAX fixed-route bus.
Call us at 385-BUSS (2877) and we will provide you with personal
assistance to help you read our schedules, locate bus stops, and ride
our buses.
Q. When should I return the ADA
application for certification?
A. Don’t wait – the sooner the better. It takes approximately 3
weeks to process the application. If you return the application by
March 31st, we will send you a complimentary $5.00 punch
card.
Q. Can I give the application to the
driver?
A. Yes, but we prefer that use the enclosed postage-paid envelope
to mail it.
Q. Can I continue to ride ParaTRAX now
without being certified?
A. Yes you can, but after July 1st no-one will be able
to ride unless they are certified.
